澤田詩園 Shion Sawada
Born in Sapporo Hokkaido
Exploring a personal affinity for memory disorders rooted in dementia, I investigate how memories are stored and how they transform over time. Through the use of photography, moving images, and oral narratives, I create stories and phenomena that function as “memory devices.” My work poses a fundamental question: When memory and language are lost, what remains to define a person’s identity?
Since 2023, I have operated “Shuppan Yu-Rei-Buin” (Ghost Member Publishing). Through interviews and contributions, We facilitate the sharing of perspectives across generations and professions. By focusing on the physical durability of print media, We aim to preserve collective memory over the long term.

認知症を起点とした記憶障害への親近感から、記憶がどのように保存され、 時間のなかでどのように変化していくのかを考える。 写真、 映像、語りを用いながら、 記憶装置として機能する物語や現象を制作する。 記憶や言葉を失ったとき、 なにをもってその人だと認識できるのか？2023年より「出版幽霊部員」を運営。インタビューや寄稿を通じて、世代や職業を超えた視点を共有することを試みる。印刷メディアの物質的な持続性に着目し、集合的な記憶を長期的に保存することを目指す。
